The MVL Booster Club Auction set an all time record this
year achieving a net profit of $47,774! The entire committee would like to
express its gratitude to all those who contributed so much to make this event
successful. The continued growth and success of this auction is a tribute to
the donors, volunteers, staff, teachers, students, families and friends of MVL.
We could not do it without all of you!
We would also like to thank the National Honor Society for
the contributions and hard work they provided to us throughout the day. Thank
you to the various Thrivent Chapters who made significant contributions and to
all the volunteers who baked those scrumptious pies. A special thanks goes out
to Mages Land Company and Auction Service! The guys put in a hard days effort
for us, all in the spirit of volunteer work for our MVL students!
Some of the highlights of the day included the sale of 51
pies that sold for an average price of $42.84 each, a new all time high. We
sold the full allocation of Kwik Trip gift cards ($25,000) which netted the
Booster Club $5,000 in profit. Other major contributions included the popular
jet rides from North Star Aviation, the Black Hills Condo package for a week,
a fishing trip to Lake Mille Lacs, the Pig-Nic for 50 people, the Green Bay
Packers autographed football, the MVL football teams labor sales ($985), the
10 MVL seat cushions which generated a $500 tuition certificate for a student
and netted the auction $500 and of course who will ever forget Cocoa, the
chocolate Labrador puppy?
We appreciate the many compliments you have paid to the
auction committee this year. It seems that everyone truly enjoyed the
afternoon despite the number of items we had to sell and the late finish. We
recently completed our wrap up meeting and are reviewing some new concepts for
next year’s auction. We are committed to wrapping up the auction by 5:00 PM.
We will not detour from the road of success that has been paved before us, we
may simply travel an updated road!
Mark your calendars! The Auction is already scheduled for
March 29, 2009! If you have any new ideas or thoughts about the
auction, contact anyone of us and we will bring it to the committee next year.
Invite your family and friends! We are looking for new faces to attend next
year’s event!
Thanks again to each and every one of you who contributed
this past year!
