Our school year at MVL is centered on the theme of An Undivided Heart, based on the words from Psalm 86. These words explain what MVL is all about as they focus on the training and instruction in the Word of God that MVL students receive. “Teach me your way, LORD, that I may rely on your faithfulness” reminds us of the faith that we Christians enjoy as we are connected to the saving promises of our heavenly Father. Our God teaches us to trust in him our whole lives. In these verses, we ask him to give us an undivided heart so that we may fear, or respect, his name. The salvation Christ won for us gives us the confidence to approach our God and trust His promises. 

God has shown his love and mercy to each of us by sending his Son, Jesus, to be our Savior. For this we are truly thankful! The Holy Spirit, who gives us an undivided heart, also leads us to respond to God’s love with a love of our own. Psalm 68 goes on to express this gratitude as it reads, “I will praise you, Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever.” As we learn more about God and his word, may our hearts be undivided in our love for our Lord, as may we serve him with our whole heart, live our lives to his glory, and share his good news with others.
